Can Ebay Really Generate Income?
This is a fascinating concept – because I’ve always believed that the internet was only good for a few things, and none of them involved money.
However, I was talking to a friend at work last week and he mentioned to me that he “does Ebay” part-time. When I asked him what on earth “doing Ebay” means (it sounded like some weird mating ritual), he said that he makes an extra $2000 a month selling things through Ebay to people across the world. My jaw dropped. I had heard about Ebay, but never had much interest.
This weekend I did some research, and when I told Cindy about it, she was extremely excited about the possibilities this could open up for us.
EBay Income Possibilities.
There are tons of articles about making money on Ebay online, and they all claim to make thousands every month on Ebay. I learned that PowerSellers are able to sell a certain level of items (in sales) every single month.
I went to eBay and searched for PowerSellers, and there were quite a few. And considering that every single one of those folks have to earn at least $1000 per month, I realized that the possibility is real. Ebay’s requirement for Silver Powersellers is at least $3000 each month, and Gold PowerSellers make more than $10,000. Platinum is $25,000 and believe it or not there’s a Titanium PowerSeller level for anyone making over $150,000! If you search through the number of PowerSellers on Ebay – you see that there really are people who have surpassed those limits consistently every single month!
To just imagine one of these PowerSellers starting out with nothing, just signing up with a new account and a balance of zero, and then bringing in thousands every month. That’s a great dream. To think – there are people out there who are even selling on Ebay full-time. If you think about it, these are people who would otherwise be jobless.
When you look at the income levels of over $150,000, you have to stop and consider that. Some people are making more actual profit on Ebay than some brick-and-mortar businesses are able to make.
Our Goal
After reading about all of the success others have had on Ebay, Cindy has decided she’s going to give it a try full-time. I’m so excited for her – and I will be helping her evenings and weekends as well. Our long-term goal will be to have the house paid and millions in the bank… Of course our short-term goal is to prevent foreclosure and avoid bankruptcy! Kind of ironic isn’t it?
It’s perfect for Cindy, because she can do everything from home, and it doesn’t matter what walk of life you are from or where you live. If you can find a product that people want to buy – you can make a fortune. And with Ebay – the entire world is your marketplace.
Getting Started
What we need to do, before we get started, is to discover where we can get something reasonably cheap that will sell. Some ideas off the top of my head at the moment:
Buying bulk from wholesale distributors.
Buying things locally from clearances and bargains
Buying from auctions and estate sales
Selling off things in the house that we don’t need.
Cindy’s going to start off this week by selling some things we have laying around the house, and we’re going to see how it goes. If it even generates at least $25 to $100 in a week – hey…every little bit helps.
Meanwhile, I’m going to start searching our area for auctions and estate sales that are around and start to learn how they work. This could be a very exciting time for us – maybe a way to turn things around.
